About

South Shore Tourism Cooperative, as a regional organization, is constantly seeking ways to bring lasting value to the entire region, from Barrington to Peggy’s Cove.

Many of you will have experienced and recognized the digital shift and the profound impact on the face of business, bringing both challenges and opportunities. The addition of COVID has made the recent past arguably some of the most unpredictable periods in a generation.

Recently South Shore Tourism Cooperative was successful in application to the Atlantic Chambers of Commerce Shop Local Campaign and awarded funding for the creation of a Shop Local program to support South Shore merchants.

The cornerstone of the project is this regional shop local website, supported by a marketing campaign focused on “Think Local”.

South Shore Tourism Cooperative has a goal to engage consumers, increase the exposure to those businesses participating, developing resources that promote unique retail, artisans and crafters, museum gift shops, restaurants, accommodations and the craft beverage business and more with this website. South Shore Tourism Cooperative looks forward to continuing to work with the regional Municipalities, Districts and Towns, the Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade and Merchant Groups and each and every individual business to capture your stories, profile your businesses, and together create a compelling vision for our area that encourages and strengthens community engagement from one end of the South Shore to the other.

When you Think Local, you’re SHORE to think of Nova Scotia’s South Shore!
