Peter Oickle — Historic Walks 2025 Season

Renowned local historian Peter Oickle will be hosting another slate of public Historic Walks for the 2025 summer and autumn seasons.
Peter is the greater Bridgewater area’s resident historian, an excellent storyteller, and weaves together the intricate pieces of our community’s famous and less-famous historic tales and personalities in a captivating way.
Whether you’re new to town, a longtime resident, or a visitor in the area, Peter’s Historic Walks are sure to entertain and educate!
2025 HISTORIC WALK SCHEDULE
Tuesday, July 29 (alternate date July 30 if poor weather)
Departs from: Brookside Cemetery at 6:30 p.m. $5 fee per person in support of DesBrisay Museum. Gather at the York Street entrance to the cemetery.
Tuesday, August 26 (alternate date August 27 if poor weather)
Departs from: Brookside Cemetery at 6:30 p.m. $5 fee per person in support of DesBrisay Museum. Gather at the York Street entrance to the cemetery.
Tuesday, September 23 (alternate date September 24 if poor weather)
Departs from: Gather at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Pleasant Street, $5 fee per person in support of DesBrisay Museum.
Monday, October 27 (alternate date October 28 if poor weather)
Ghost Walk
Departs from: Brookside Cemetery at 6:30 p.m. No fee. Gather at the Cenotaph.
Saturday, November 8 (no alternate date)
Veterans Walk
Departs from: Brookside Cemetery. No fee. Gather at the Cenotaph.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. Expect a walk of 60 to 75 minutes.
